New Muslimah Collective - Sydney

Monthly Picnic and Prayer in Hyde Park for Sydney Muslimahs of any Sect of Islam, any Ethnicity, any level of hijab, any relationship status, any motherhood status.

Time:  Every 4th Sunday of the month, from 11:30 am
Location: Hyde Park, Sydney CBD (exact location and map TBA)

If you are a Muslimah who has not got a tight Muslim community to belong to - maybe due to geographical distance to the Mainstream Muslim Suburbs, or maybe you just do not quite fit into a particular Mosque community, or maybe you are a convert and do not fit with the ethnic Muslims or maybe you do not follow any particular Sunni or Shia scholar - there could be any number of reasons your only Muslimah community so far has been online.

So the goal of New Muslimah Collective - Sydney is to bring together the diversity of Muslimahs of Sydney to EAT, PRAY and LOVE

Central to the purpose of an NMC gathering is to perform congregational prayer in the park - each sister praying according to the rules they follow (Sunni or Shia or other)

There will be NO Fiqh policing in this group
No sock nazis
No arms folded or down by the side nazis
Pray in dress, skirt, abaya or jeans
Come in Burqa, Niqab, Abaya, Hijab with jeans, Jeans no hijab

We may pray differently, but we pray in one direction to the same God.

COME AS YOU ARE!

BRING A PLATE OF FOOD TO SHARE/ DRINKS (we will set up a roster before the picnic so we know who is bringing what)

COME WITH YOUR OWN PICNIC RUG,  CUTLERY,  PRAYER MAT, AND ANY OTHER ITEMS YOU WANT TO ENJOY A DAY IN THE PARK.
