Love letter of hope to women living in fear

My "Love Letter of Hope to Women in Fear " as seen in the Write & Shine online magazine This letter was what I needed to hear when stuck in fear from abuse & I know countless women around the world need to hear this too - there is hope & life beyond abuse. Please, keep dreaming it & walk toward it. Crawl if you must 🙏💚

[Dear Soul Sister, I see you there curled up in a ball, trying to disappear in a darkened room in the middle of the night; listening out for his snoring so that you can finally exhale. I see you holding your breath as you hear his car pull up in the driveway way & you try to decipher the mood he is in by the step of his foot on the door mat & by the way he jiggles the key in the lock. Was that a sigh & grunt with one too many turns of the key? I know that fear & frustration, I know you did all you could that day to make things 'perfect' so that you could get through one night without setting him off. I know he tells you that it's your fault, that you made him do it. I also know that you see him speak pleasantly with others & in the next second glare at you under his breath, just out of view so others don't see. I can feel your confusion, exhaustion, shame, guilt, anger, resentment & self-loathing. I hear you tell yourself "maybe he's right & this is the best my life can get. He's the only one that will put up with me". I know right now it seems impossible to imagine another life outside of this nightmare, much less know how to make it happen. I know all this because I was once you, in fact I was twice you. I want you to know that there is a grand life of joy & tranquility waiting for you, in fact it is with you right now, because it is you. Imagine that you are the eye of the storm around you. Drop into that inner calm, breath deeply into your belly, & listen for that little voice of your wisdom rising up from the core of your being. Ignore that fearful thinking in your head that is telling you 'what if?' & 'you can't'- that head chatter is not the truth. You are OK, you have always been OK & will always be OK because that is your Divine nature, you do know what to do & you have the strength to do it. Love & Light, Pia Antico ]
